Hematocrit Reflects Your Red Blood Cells

Hematocrit reflects the percentage of blood that is made up of red blood cells. An abnormal hematocrit can compromise oxygenation and blood flow and have wide-ranging effects on the body.

A decrease in hematocrit is associated with anemia and can decrease how well the body and brain get oxygenated.

Hematocrit is part of the complete blood count (CBC). A suboptimal level should be explored further.
