What do Micronutrients Have to do with Energy, Mood, and Brain Function? Everything.

Micronutrients, although required in small amounts, are vital for brain function and energy generation.

Key micronutrients such as vitamins B1 through B12, biotin, vitamin C, iron, magnesium, and zinc play a crucial role in converting food into energy (ATP) and energy metabolism itself.  If these are deficient, individuals may experience fatigue and decreased cognitive abilities since the brain and muscles rely heavily on them.

The brain uses a significant amount of energy, mainly sourced from glucose, but it can also use alternatives like lactate and ketone bodies.

Cells hold a massive number of ATP molecules that constantly get used and replaced, ensuring consistent energy availability. A deficiency in key nutrients, energy, or oxygen can impair mental and physical functionality.

Therefore, assessing micronutrient levels is essential for understanding overall health and potential root causes of chronic diseases.
