Concentrate on Your Large HDL Particle Concentration

Knowing your cholesterol level is just not enough information to assess cardiovascular risk.

Research shows that measuring large HDL particle concentration is a better indicator of cardiovascular risk than measuring HDL cholesterol. Higher levels of large HDLs are associated with a lower risk of CVD, while decreased levels can be associated with inflammation, atherosclerosis, and cardiometabolic disease.

Levels of large HDLs can be increased with a healthy diet or snacks containing fruit, fiber, omega-3s,vitamins and minerals. Research even suggests that eating 1-3 eggs per day can improve large HDL levels, to the surprise of many!
