Mean Platelet Volume is Not an MVP

Written by ODX Admin | Jun 28, 2022 1:15:00 AM

Mean platelet volume (MPV) refers to the average size of circulating platelets, the small blood cells that help the blood clot.

An increase in MPV means platelet production is increasing but it also means that larger immature more reactive platelets are being released.

An elevated MPV can contribute to cardiovascular disease, stroke, and deep vein thrombosis.
