How to Fight Candida Yeast Overgrowth

Written by ODX Admin | Jan 18, 2024 7:35:00 PM

Candida albicans, a common yeast found in our bodies, usually doesn't cause problems unless it overgrows or changes form.

Overgrowth can happen due to factors like a diet high in sugar and processed foods, an imbalance in gut bacteria, a weakened immune system, excessive use of antibiotics, stress, smoking, and heavy drinking. When Candida grows excessively and changes form, it can lead to various health issues, including gut problems and systemic infections.

To keep Candida in check, a balanced diet rich in vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and healthy fats, along with protein from sources like fish, is beneficial.

Probiotics and prebiotics can also help maintain a healthy balance of gut bacteria. Moreover, incorporating natural compounds found in foods like garlic, ginger, cinnamon, coconut oil, and apple cider vinegar can also help combat Candida.

Besides diet, regular exercise, effective stress management, avoiding smoking, and moderate alcohol consumption are crucial for preventing Candida overgrowth and maintaining overall health.
